BACKGAMMON
An afghan that can also be used as a floor game! This knitted afghan is a large scale version of the traditional board game. It has knitted playing pieces.
Backgammon is not inherently mathematical but is a game of strategy which helps to develop logical thinking, planning and reasoning.

KNITTING INFORMATION
The afghan in the photo was made with Aran weight yarn. Using a different yarn would change the overall size.
It would be very difficult to modify the instructions to change the size, other than by adding a wider, or narrower border.
CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION
Knitted in two large pieces which are stitched together.
The triangles are created by using a short-row technique.
These playing pieces were made from coils of French knitting. You could also knit them using the technique known as i-cord, or make crochet circles.
The dice were made from plastic canvas (Instructions not included)
